Great show guys!
Each of you picked movies that I really dig.
Doug – DUEL ruled. Spielberg was hot before Jaws. Awesome movie.
Craig – …MAD,MAD WORLD is a favorite. I watch it every couple of years. It has a great cast!
Tom – I’m going to back you up brother. DEATH PROOF is amazing. I was cursing Craig and Doug. There’s not one frame of that movie that I don’t love.
I also love SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT,THE ROAD WARRIOR and DEATH RACE 2000.
Here’s two car chase movies that I really like:
RACE WITH THE DEVIL (1975) – Two couples on vacation in their camper accidentally witness a human sacrifice by devil worshippers. They are discovered by the evil and clan and a chase ensues. It’s not entirely a car chase movie but when the chases do occur they are amazing. Stars Peter Fonda.
VANISHING POINT (1971) This is a grimy drive-in, cult classic. It’s got great car chases, naked women on motorcycles and all sorts of other weird stuff.

Yes, I’ve seen Race and Vanishing Point, Not so strong on Race, but Vanishing Point sticks in my mind as one of the really good grind house style films and a recommend! And what could be wrong with naked women (men for women and the less hetero among us) riding motorcycles.
Duel terrified me as a child. I still think if a driver of a car is obscured from my view, he will come after me.
